In this talk, Richard will walk participants through a journey on how he secure his second job as a Promotions Manager with Asia Pacific Breweries,  a blue chip listed company with zero experience and track record in sales and marketing. 

  • What to include in your resume in order to secure a job interview even though you have nothing substantial to write in terms of prior job experience

  • How to prepare for the 1st job interview

  • How to ace your interview through innovative thinking

  • How to prepare for the 2nd job interview based on information gathered from the 1st interview

  • How Richard secured the Promotions Manager job even though the 3rd interview did not go as planned

Profile of Speaker - Richard Mak

Richard has a pretty interesting corporate career. He has secured good jobs in 5 different industries with each job in a different functional area compared to previous jobs. What is amazing is that he was climbing the corporate ladder all the time. Richard’s track record shows he has the capability to seek and secure jobs while switching career path. This is an invaluable skillset to acquire given the transient nature of corporate employment in our fast changing economy.

Richard is a strong advocate for creativity and innovation as a way of life. He is an author (Snap! Creative Ideas On Demand), inventor (Zeros-To-Heros game), social entrepreneur (TalentRefreshed), entrepreneur (Alpha-Plus Training Consultants), adjunct faculty staff of the Singapore Management University in the “Creative Thinking” module and corporate trainer with more than 30 years of work/business experience. Richard's diverse experiences spanned business development, joint-venture dealings, strategic business planning, sales & marketing, banking, finance, and accounting. He has provided corporate advisory services in several multi-million dollars joint-ventures and strategic alliances. 

 

Richard is the Founder of TalentRefreshed, a social enterprise whose mission is to generate income and employment opportunities for the unemployed PMETs.
